Description
AirSense is a vertical, multi-stage air purification system built within a 6-inch cylindrical body, designed for both practical purification and clear visual demonstration. Air enters from the bottom intake fan and moves upward through four specialized chambers, each performing a dedicated filtration function before being released as clean air from the top.
The first chamber houses silica gel beads, which strip excess humidity from the incoming air. This protects the upper filters, prevents microbial growth, and smoothens airflow so the later stages work at peak efficiency.
The second chamber holds the H14-grade HEPA filter, capable of trapping 99.995% of ultrafine particles — dust, pollen, smoke, and many microbes. This becomes the mechanical backbone of AirSense, catching particles down to 0.3 microns through interception and diffusion.
Above that sits the electrostatic ionization chamber. A negative ion generator charges remaining fine particles, and a collector plate pulls them in using electrostatic attraction. This stage removes pollutants that even HEPA might allow through, echoing the logic of industrial electrostatic precipitators, but scaled to our compact design.
In the final stage, the air passes through an activated carbon bed, whose porous surface adsorbs VOCs, toxic gases, and odors — giving the air its polished finish.
Once fully treated, the purified air exits through the top exhaust fan, completing AirSense’s upward filtration path. The bottom-to-top flow maintains stable pressure and prevents reverse flow during operation.
Structurally, AirSense is cut along one-third of its side and sealed with a transparent acrylic window, letting viewers watch the entire purification cycle in real time. Each chamber is fully modular, making maintenance, cleaning, and demonstration efficient and intuitive.
What sets AirSense apart is its unusual combination of four purification technologies inside a compact 6-inch transparent body — a configuration rarely attempted and not commercially available in this architecture.
