Automed is automatic medicine dispenser that releases medicines at time and date set by users. Time and date can be set via a web interface. It helps the people with chronic illness or alzheimer’s disease, and many other people by giving them proper medicine at proper time. Taking the wrong medicine can cause risk to their health. Manual reminders are often unreliable, leading to missed or delayed doses.
Description
The user accesses the ESP8266’s hosted web page via WiFi and sets 5 dispense schedules using
datetime inputs. The ESP stores these schedules in EEPROM. The RTC module keeps accurate
time, which the ESP checks continuously. When current date and time matches any stored
schedule, the stepper motor activates to dispense pills, and the buzzer alerts the user. An LCD
displays current time and dispensing status. The user can stop the buzzer by pressing the button.
The schedules trigger dispensing only once per set datetime to avoid repeats.
