The Dehumidifier is a next-gen, space-efficient eco curtain that naturally improves indoor air using activated bamboo charcoal and silica gel. With its working principle being Van der Waals adsorption, it reduces humidity, captures pollutants and odors, and lowers AC electricity load — all without consuming power. Its removable middle layer is regenerable through simple sun-drying or heat-drying making it reusable. It is perfect for homes, hostels, hotels, restaurants, and schools. (We also plan to explore Parali-based activated charcoal as a future sustainable upgrade.)
Description
The Dehumidifier is a next-generation, space-efficient eco curtain engineered to enhance indoor air quality passively. Its unique three-layer structure includes a middle adsorption layer infused with activated bamboo charcoal and silica gel, bonded using a simple Fevicol–spray technique for even distribution and strong adherence.
As air naturally passes through, pollutants, moisture, VOCs, and odors are captured through Van der Waals adsorption forces — enabling the curtain to function as a passive dehumidifier, purifier, and odor absorber. By reducing excess humidity, it also lowers the latent load on air conditioners, contributing to noticeable electricity savings.
The adsorbent middle layer is attached using Velcro strips, making it fully removable and regenerable. It can be sun-dried or heat-dried to restore its adsorption capacity, extending its lifespan and reducing waste.
Designed for modern homes, hostels, hotels, restaurants, and school environments, The Dehumidifier provides clean, comfortable indoor air without occupying extra space or relying on heavy electrical appliances.
As a future enhancement, we plan to develop Parali-based activated charcoal, providing a sustainable, upcycled alternative that also helps reduce stubble-burning pollution.
