At the beginning of the game, each player receives a starting amount of cash and a personal balance sheet, which becomes their financial record throughout the game. Players must carefully note every income earned, every expense paid, every asset purchased, and any loans taken. This active bookkeeping trains players to maintain financial clarity, stay organized, and understand how day-to-day decisions affect long-term net worth.

A key role in Dhanvi is the Banker—a non-playing game official who manages the overall economy. The Banker handles all cash transactions, distributes income, collects penalties, oversees loans, and ensures every player follows the rules. The Banker also conducts audits, which are triggered when a player lands on the Audit space. During an audit, the Banker reviews the player’s balance sheet for mistakes, missing entries, or miscalculations. Errors can lead to fines, reinforcing the importance of accurate financial tracking.

As players move around the 32-space board, they encounter income opportunities, unexpected expenses, lotteries, quizzes, events, and investment options. Investment spaces allow players to build wealth by purchasing assets such as real estate, stocks, bonds, oil, precious metals, or government schemes. These assets gain or lose value based on event card outcomes and dice rolls, teaching players about market fluctuations and the risks and rewards of investing.

The game concludes after a set number of rounds, when players calculate their final net worth:
