EcoPack – A central packaging unit which tracks and consolidates all your orders into a single package. It delivers all your orders from various Indian e-commerce websites in a single package which a single delivery person delivers, reducing fuel consumption, waste generation and carbon emissions.
Description
Our idea is EcoPack – Central Packaging & Distribution System. In my idea, when a user orders online, there will be 2 delivery dates. One standard date, facilitating early delivery but increasing carbon emission and giving no discount. Next time if they opt for this option there will be an additional fee charged. The second date or eco-friendly date consolidates all packages and delivers together but later. It decreases the carbon emission and gives discount on our next purchase.
The idea is to have a Central Packaging unit, which will track orders using the customer phone number and address and collect orders from various e-commerce sites placed by a user and decide on the earliest delivery date. Hence, all orders can come in one package through one delivery person, reducing carbon emission and plastic waste. For urgent requirements like medicines, standard delivery will not charge additional fee. To attract users to choose the eco-friendly delivery, we will be giving coupons to consistent eco-friendly users monthly.
Our idea requires government support and a consortium of various Indian e-commerce companies. We request you to help us in raising awareness and taking it to government by funding.
