Description

Our innovative project harnesses wind energy generated by cars speeding on highways to produce clean electricity. Small, durable turbines placed along the roadside capture the airflow from passing vehicles, converting it into usable power for lights, signs, or charging stations—reducing reliance on fossil fuels and promoting sustainable transport.

Why it works?

Highways create constant high-speed winds from traffic, ideal for vertical-axis turbines that spin efficiently without facing into the wind. A student-built prototype demonstrates this at a small scale, lighting LEDs or charging a phone, proving the concept for real-world green energy.

Future Vision

With government partnership from NHAI, this scales to power highway infrastructure safely. Costs start low for prototypes (₹2,000–₹8,000) but rise to crores for pilots, making it a smart, eco-friendly solution for India’s roads.
