NIRI is a novel device that empowers individuals to conserve water by monitoring and limiting usage in real-time.  NIRI aims to address the growing water crisis in urban areas. This innovation is under development by students of Vidyashilp Academy, Bangalore.

NIRI device is at Prototype & testing stage. Phase 1 is complete , we are targeting to reach 100 households to make them aware of this simple solution which will Save Water & will Save Money on your water bills.

Prototype is available in a week’s time to be sold to schools & societies as awareness campaign to make Water Warriors.

NIRI features : NIRI targets significant reduction in shower and other similar operations by connecting it to shower or other faucets. The device ensures conscious consumption by utilising 3 modes

Mode 1: Measuring water usage

Mode 2 :Sets alarms after minimal limit

Mode 3: Cuts off water supply after reaching maximum limit

Cost Benefit Analysis : 

saving of 28% water consumption & saving 28% on your water bills ( avg annual consumption of family of 3)

eg : Using NIRI device at shower faucet, 100 households can save 3.6 million litres water in a year, saving per family is 3650 rs per year.

We are keeping the cost of the device @ 10 rs per day which is 3650 INR

Target Market segment : Urban cities , Market Potential USD 14 Billion with CAGR 12%

UNIT Economics : MRP 3650, gross margin 30%

    This proposed device is quite an innovative thought with wide usage to save good quality water. Especially in those regions that have freshwater crises. Moreover, I would suggest incorporating a probe sensor (if available in the market or elsewhere) that could alert the users for heavy metals contaminations (e.g., Hg, Pb, Cad, As, etc) even if it raises the cost a bit. This modification shall increase the ambit of usage. My best wishes to the Innovator

    I like the proposed simple solution . I would like to volunteer for testing in first 100 household . Water needs to be conserved and people should be made aware that it is not free .
