Fund our Innovation | Smart Roads: Generating Energy from Vehicle-Induced pressure

900.00

We are making Smart Roads that generate energy from vehicle-induced pressure. This innovation is being developed by students of Balsam Academy.

Electromagnetic load cells, on the other hand, function based on electromagnetic induction. When mechanical pressure is applied to these cells, it causes a change in the magnetic field within the cell. This change induces an electric current in a nearby coil, which can then be captured and converted into electrical energy. Electromagnetic load cells are often made from materials like ferromagnetic metals, which are highly responsive to changes in magnetic fields.

Once the mechanical pressure is converted into electrical energy by these load cells, the energy is transported to a nearby charging station. This station is equipped with storage systems, such as batteries or capacitors, to store the generated electricity. The stored energy can then be used to power various applications, contributing to the overall renewable energy supply.

This method of energy generation is particularly advantageous because it leverages the constant and ubiquitous force of gravity. Unlike solar or wind energy, which can be intermittent, gravitational energy is always present. By integrating piezoelectric and electromagnetic load cells into infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, or buildings, we can continuously harvest energy from the gravitational pressure exerted by vehicles, pedestrians, and other sources. This innovative approach not only provides a sustainable energy solution but also enhances the efficiency of existing infrastructure.
