The tragic drainage burst on July 27 that claimed the lives of three IAS students made us to rethink safety. In response, we introduce the Solar Sentinel – a drainage block detector designed to prevent such incidents. “Solar Sentinel is a IoT device used to detect the block in drainage system. Our  aim is to install this unit  in a sewage system to detect blocks and to avoid disasters caused by drainage clogging. The fund needed to install this unit in 100km is  Rs 35,000. In the  first phase we need to install this system in our hometown and to propagate it to the other major towns  that suffer with clogged sewage system.The sewage  line in Kochi is approximately 6519.In order  to install Solar Sentinel unit in Kochi we need 25 lakhs( apprx).
