Description

OroScan is an early-stage oral cancer screening device designed to make early detection simple, accurate, and widely accessible. The system pairs a compact imaging module with a custom AI model capable of analyzing oral cavity images and identifying suspicious lesions within seconds. Our current prototype has demonstrated strong potential, and we’re now focused on transforming it into a polished, reliable device suitable for real-world use.

With the funding, we plan to transition from our hand-assembled prototype to a fully designed printed circuit board (PCB), which will improve reliability, reduce size, and significantly lower production costs. Another key step is conducting formal medical certification testing, which is essential for validating accuracy, safety, and usability before any healthcare deployment.

We are also working to expand our dataset and improve the underlying machine-learning model, allowing OroScan to become more accurate across different lighting conditions, oral anatomies, and image qualities. This will help the device perform consistently in practical settings.

Ultimately, our goal is to refine OroScan into an affordable, user-friendly tool that anyone can access – whether in clinics, dental offices, or even at home – so that early screening becomes easier and more proactive. Support at this stage will directly enable and accelerate hardware refinement, certification, and data-driven improvements that move us closer to a device that can genuinely make early detection more common and more accessible to everyone.
