Road Sense

Description

Road Sense is an advanced safety device designed to be integrated directly into cars during manufacturing. Its purpose is to intelligently monitor the driver’s physical condition and the vehicle’s surroundings to ensure maximum safety on the road. The system uses ultrasonic and radar sensors to detect obstacles around the vehicle. If any object comes within a critical distance (below the preset threshold), the device instantly triggers an alert and can activate protective responses to prevent a collision. For driver safety, Road Sense includes a pulse-rate and hand-stability monitor. If the system detects an abnormal pulse rate, signs of distress, or shaking hands that indicate the driver is unfit or losing control, it automatically prevents the vehicle from starting or brings it to a controlled stop. This ensures that the car only moves when the driver is physically stable, drastically reducing accident risks caused by fatigue, health issues, or sudden panic.
In the future, the system can also integrate thermal sensors to detect live animals on the road, further improving environmental awareness and reducing roadkill incidents.
