​The wooden Smart Crop Storage Box 🌾 is an IoT device designed for crop security and quality control. The system is managed by a microcontroller and powered by a 9V battery, triggering notifications to the farmer’s device upon detection of issues. The LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) sensor monitors for unauthorized opening or light changes, indicating potential theft. The PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor detects movement from intruders or large pests near the exterior. Most importantly for crop quality, the DHT11 sensor accurately measures both the ambient temperature and relative humidity inside the box. High temperature and especially high humidity are the primary causes of fungal growth and spoilage in stored crops. The system uses these readings to activate a cooling fan to maintain optimal environmental conditions, while a vibrating system helps repel small pests. The combination of these sensors ensures comprehensive protection and real-time inventory and quality monitoring for the farmer.
