The “Vote Assistant Machine” is designed to assist visually impaired voters by providing headphones that audibly confirm the name of the political party they have selected.
When a voter presses the button corresponding to their chosen party, the machine reads out the party name through the headphones, allowing the voter to verify that their vote has been accurately recorded.
Key components include a headphone jack and headphones that audibly announce the selected party when a button is pressed, ensuring the voter can confirm their choice without assistance. The system is built using an Arduino Mega board as the central processor, connected to push buttons, a DFPlayer module for audio playback, and a speaker for additional audio feedback. The headphones play the audio regardless of the speaker’s status, ensuring the user receives confirmation privately. This system empowers visually impaired voters to cast their vote independently and eliminates the risk of fraudulent or erroneous voting.
