About : In today’s educational landscape, fostering Emotional Quotient (EQ) is recognized as being as vital as developing Intellectual Quotient (IQ). However, schools often lack systematic, data-driven tools to consistently observe, track, and analyze students’ emotional and social behaviors. This leads to subjective assessments, missed opportunities for timely intervention, and difficulty in measuring the impact of EQ-focused initiatives.

MyEQ Coach is a user-friendly, mobile-first application designed to empower educators, parents and students with a streamlined method for recording real-time observations of student emotional intelligence behaviors. By leveraging a structured data collection process and automated data analysis, the app transforms subjective observations (of teacher, parents, and even the student himself, into actionable insights, facilitating personalized feedback and targeted interventions to enhance students’ emotional and social competencies. The prototype which has been developed, demonstrates the core functionality of systematic observation based on scientific methods, dynamic data entry, and automated scoring of observed behaviors. AI empowered insights will help in realistic impact of this innovation.

The primary objectives of MyEQ Coach are:

1. To enable systematic and consistent observation: Provides teachers, parents and Students with an intuitive platform to record specific emotional and social behaviors exhibited by students in various contexts.
2. To facilitate data-driven insights: Automates the classification and scoring of observed behaviors (e.g., positive vs. negative polarity) to move beyond anecdotal evidence.
3. To support personalized feedback and intervention: Generates structured data that can inform individualized coaching strategies and targeted support for students’ emotional development.
4. To track EQ (Emotional Quotient) trends over time: Lays the foundation for aggregating observation data to identify patterns and progress in students’ emotional intelligence.

The prototype of the App has been successfully developed and tested, and it serves as a strong proof-of-concept, showcasing the potential to transform how emotional intelligence is monitored and supported in schools.
