Our project is the epitome of this saying. This prototype has the ability to convert heat energy from any source to mechanical using the good old Stirling engine. The mechanical energy is then converted to electrical energy through our proprietary induction model. In short, heat is used to create rotational motion and rotating magnets induce alternating current into a copper coil. VOILA. Description
Our model can be used to harness waste heat from industries using a Stirling engine and a gear system attached to it with magnets and copper coils and appliance to detect current . Due to the temperature differential in the two bulbs of the engine mechanical energy is developed in the flywheel and this causes spinning of the magnets attached to the gears inducing a current in the copper wire. And thus our model is able to generate electrical energy from waste heat. With the funds we receive we hope to improve our model enough to light up an led and even slow charge a phone. We also hope to expand our model so it can be fitted to many situations.
