Large-scale events like the Maha Kumbh Mela and global pilgrimages often face the recurring problem of people getting lost in overwhelming crowds. TraceBands is an AI-enabled “Lost & Found” system that ensures quick, safe reunification. Using QR wristband registration, sector-based kiosks, real-time AI CCTV scanning, and instant identification alerts, the system helps locate missing individuals efficiently.

Large gatherings such as the Maha Kumbh Mela, global pilgrimages, and massive concerts attract millions of visitors, but they also face a recurring and critical challenge: people getting lost in overwhelming crowds. TraceBands is an integrated, AI-powered “Lost & Found” ecosystem designed to ensure safety, faster reunification, and peace of mind for attendees and their families.

The system operates through four coordinated steps.

1. QR Code Wristband Registration:

Every attendee is required to register at transport hubs or entry points, receiving a durable QR wristband linked to their personal details, photo, emergency contacts, and family group. Only registered individuals can enter event grounds. Families can share a group code for simplified tracking.

2. Lost & Found Kiosks:

Each event sector contains digital kiosks equipped with QR scanners and large display screens. These kiosks allow people to report themselves or others as missing and display real-time information and images of missing individuals, making identification quick and intuitive.

3. Real-Time Capture & Processing:

AI-powered CCTV cameras continuously scan each sector, capturing and processing faces in real time. When someone is reported missing, the system immediately alerts cameras in their last known sector, enabling targeted monitoring and rapid detection.

4. Search & Identification:

If the system detects a match, nearby volunteers and security personnel receive instant alerts with the person’s live location. Big screens reassure lost individuals and inform group members who may not realize someone is missing, especially common in large tour groups. QR scans by staff or attendees also help identify individuals who cannot communicate.

To maintain safety, individuals reported missing, and their families, cannot move between sectors until the person is found. This prevents further separation and speeds up reunification.
